Integration

Connecting Basler imaging to your systems as easily as possible

Systems are becoming more complex and are divided into sub-areas. Expert knowledge is often required to activate individual functions within these areas. The core component of our vision system is the pylon Software Suite, for which we have developed numerous connectors. This allows vision to be seamlessly integrated into your existing systems and sub-systems. Open source connections offer further starting points for integration and are available as plug-ins or via external platforms.

Integration with third-party systems

Our products have proven themselves in many applications and projects. One of the reasons for this is their compatibility with third-party systems. The systematic integration of systems makes processes more efficient.

Open source projects

Thanks to the open-source projects, you can develop prototype applications using the Python programming language, as well as robot applications on the Robot Operating System (ROS). The pylon GStreamer plug-in is an open-source plug-in for the GStreamer multimedia framework for media applications such as streaming and video editing/playback.

pypylon

pypylon

pypylon is the Python wrapper for our pylon Software. The open source software allows easy integration of Basler cameras into Python applications.
pylon-gstreamer-plug-in

pylon GStreamer

The pylon GStreamer plug-in enables the use of Basler cameras in the GStreamer framework for streaming, video editing and playback.
Robot Operating System (ROS)

Robot Operating System 1 & 2

With the pylon camera driver for ROS 1 and ROS 2, prototype and robot applications can be developed using the Python programming language on the Robot Operating System (ROS).
Yocto Project

Porting Guide for Yocto Project

The porting guide for Yocto Projects includes instructions as well as GitHub Meta Layers that can be integrated into existing Yocto projects. GenTL Producers, Basler Camera Driver, Kernel Patches and Device Tree Files are included.

Software development platforms

Current documentation and software versions of our open source projects can be found on the following platforms.

GitHub

GitHub

On GitHub, we document and manage the different versions of our open source projects. These include pypylon, ROS or GStreamer.
Docker

dockerhub

We host the pylon Supplementary Package for pylon AI on dockerhub. It provides the backend service for AI vTools, is based on the NVIDIA Triton Inference Server, and includes Basler add-ons for model encryption and licensing.
