Our innovation process
Targeted to market-ready innovation
We use the rocket to visualize the three "maturity levels" of our innovation projects. Each phase helps us to identify meaningful trends and derive projects that the market and our customers need. This fast and efficient three-stage process from idea to market maturity helps us to be more innovative and faster than the competition.
Phase 1: Identification of technologies and trends
We examine and analyze markets and technologies to identify unrealised business ideas and unrecognised business areas.
Our internal "radar" for technologies and markets helps us to systematically identify potential.
We increase the visibility of the Basler brand in research and teaching in order to strengthen technology transfer and gain competent partners at our side.
Phase 2: Define, evaluate, focus
From the second phase onwards, we use the kickboxing method based on Adobe Inc. for alternative solutions and their evaluation. This allows us to scrutinize exactly which ideas and approaches could actually be relevant
Each innovator presents their idea in a pitch. In doing so, they present the problem and their solution approach.
We pursue two approaches:
Bottom-up initiative: driven by the innovator
Top-down initiative: driven by a corporate decision
Phase 3: further development and implementation
In the third phase, we give the innovators and their ideas sufficient time and a protected space to develop and fully unfold.
Together with customers, we test the innovation project. We develop it further based on the respective customer applications and the feedback received.
The aim of our innovation process
After successful validation, an innovation project is integrated into our standard portfolio and made available to the machine vision market. Thanks to the products and other results that have been generated from the innovation process, Basler is a leading provider of machine vision solutions.
